Following on the school’s success in the Inter Schools Gala, talented Grade 7 student, Joss Hempel was invited to swim in the Top 8 Invitational Gala held in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth. This event is for the top 8 swimmers with the quickest times competing in the ‘B’ galas.
He continued his astonishing success record achieving gold medals in both the 50 metre freestyle and butterfly in the 12 and under age group, second in the breaststroke and fourth in the backstroke.
Joss competed as an individual, though he proudly represented St Francis College wearing our colours at all the galas.
